Make your STDERR red
I like command lines, but often make fun of people that prefer them over well-produced GUIs. I suppose the reason is that well-produced GUIs are rare.
That being said: turning text red is notable? In 2011?

It's less of a unique idea, and more of a why-didn't-I-think-of-that sort of thing, in my opinion.
